The vacancy
We have an excellent opportunity for a Governance Support Officer in our Strategy, Portfolio, Partnerships and Digital Division (SPPD).
The SPPD supports the Secretary General in strategic, governance, and programme matters, and works as Secretary to the Governing Boards. The Senior Director - SPPD’s Office has the delegated authority for managing the Secretariat’s programme portfolio, partnerships and strategic initiatives such as the Commonwealth Innovation Ecosystem Programme and the Commonwealth Innovation Hub.
Under the direct supervision of the Assistant Secretary to the Governing Board, the successful candidate will assist with organising Governing Board meetings and the preparation and circulation of board meeting agendas and meeting papers. They will also be responsible for preparing briefing notes, organising minute-taking and following-up on matters related to the decisions of the Governing Boards.

To be considered, you must hold a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification in a relevant field (e.g. international development, project management, public administration). Candidates must also have at least three years’ experience in a related role, gained in an international or multicultural environment, and be proficient in the use of Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office. Familiarity with using project management software and experience in arranging and managing high-level meetings is also required. Candidates with further qualifications in Business or in Management will have an added advantage.
